Vision and radar of killed units.
-
The scout (or any other air unit) continues to be shown visually and the radar will not fall to the ground. Also, the ships will not sink yet, they continue to transmit vision and sonar until they reach the bottom.
Is it possible to stop showing vision after the death of the unit?
Too much is counteracted by the T1 scout, as well as the naval battles.
Or after the death of a moving scout, he began to feed not in the direction of movement, but down or with a decreasing coefficient to his speed, for example 10%. -
It's fixable, in AirUnit.lua you have to disable the vision and unit intel when the unit is killed instead of on impact. You also have to disable vision in Unit.lua for navy. It already disables radar/sonar on death.
Whether or not it's desirable for balance I'm not sure, people often use dead scouts for vision into bases through SAM walls or to counteract Cybran stealth more effectively. Your idea for slowing the scout down as if its experiencing air drag seems like a decent way to make dead scouts decent vs armies (slower t1 scouts) but worse vs bases (faster t3 scouts). -
@Nomander
I did not understand why I should do this if everyone uses a non-stop stream of T1 scouts on the ground against Cybran and on the water against Cybran sonar.
Also, when naval attacks, it is visible until the ships of the defending-retreating sink, all ships have a vision + sonar + underwater vision. And the ships sink for a very long time. -
Im a noob and so my point of view is I like this little ......whats the word....quirk. Imo it still costs apm to be able to take advantage of this so its a skill thing when it comes down to it. How many times I will be watching a scout, have to return to my acu/army to micro and then guess the timing of the crashed scout to switch back real quick in order to catch a glimpse. I do like the ideas and conversations about realism so the idea of slowing the wrecked scout down (and speeding naval wrecks up?) is intriguing but to me its one of the many nice little quirks about this game that have kinda become meta at this point if that makes sense.
