Issues linking steam account to faf

I can not link my steam account to my faf account...
My profile is public and when I click the link to link my account, I am forwarded to an steam login. I log in, but see no messages. Instead I get redirected back to the linking page. There are no error messages displayed, not even in the developer tools (f12).
What can I do?

@dupdup90 If you scroll down on the redirected page, do you see anything in the "Flash Message" area?
