      I'm new and have a simple question I need answered and that is forged alliance forever free, or do you have to pay at some point I'm so confused?

        FAF is free but requires you to own the Forged alliance on steam or gog. If you own Forged Alliance then there is nothing more to pay for. And considering FA often goes on sale you can grab it for like 2-3$ at least few times a year.
