Micro monkey lord laser

So i want monkey lord to target building X, i click it he lasers it.
I want him to keep moving so i click move forward and he stops targeting the building i clicked

Is this normal?

Yes it's normal. The move order is overriding the attack order.

Download the mod Advanced Target Priorities. You can use it to tell your units what to target so they keep firing at the target while moving.
