Steam Link issue when the game wasnt bought but "gifted"
-
Greetings Commanders,
My son, same household, recieved SupCom FA from me using the Steam buy-option "Buy as gift for other account"
We are unable to link his FAF account to his Steam account.
I know the drill of making basicly everything public in the profil and "unhiding" the game, which wasnt hidden.Since the process of linking worked fine on my end, i can only guess that the issue is that the game was "gifted" instead of bought by him self.
Is anyone aware of such an issue?
kind regards
Beebob -
There should be no difference: all our system do is check if the game is present in the library. How it got there isn't relevant.
If you have discord, contact us in the FAF discord with a moderation ticket and we can have a look together at what is preventing you from linking properly. -
Update: It appears to be a mix of user and steam error.
- the game was recieved into the library and successfully installed and started !
- The recieving-person needs to accept the gift. which is currently not possible due to some steam website issues.
So, it appears for the moment, that, despite the game being in the library, its not "really" in the library yet, until the reciver has accepted the gift.
Sorry for the bother. -
Update 2:
Point 1 and 2 should contradict themself, but it is what it is.... or was in that case.
The gift was successfully accepted and now the linking was possible.
