The current pre-release of the client ("pioneer" in the version) is only compatible to itself. So you can only play with other testers. Please be aware!
The problem is solved.
There was a problem with my temporary monitor with a non-standard resolution. Replacing this old one with a new one, the image appeared and the artifacts disappeared,
