In Russia, two groups of enthusiasts used this code and based on it, they created their two clients:
RuFAF,
GAF (Gap forever).

Later, it turned out that there are few SC players. In Russia, even fewer.
The fight for players began.
As I understand it, these groups began to compete.
At the same time, they probably use DDOS attacks on players.

Previously, Russian players were prevented from playing several days a week using DDOS. So that players would switch to Russian servers and clients.
But later, when ordinary players learned about the reasons for DDOS, many returned back to FAF.
No one wants to be cattle, forcibly driven into a stall.
Seeing this trend, attacks on Russian players have intensified.
Over the years, the problem has reached its peak.
Now sometimes it is impossible to play all week. You have to wait for a rare day.
You sit for 8 hours and make 10-15 attempts at games, which are subject to DDOS after 5-10 minutes.
You can play less and less often.
This is a lobby simulator game, not a strategy game.

I suspect that players from other countries are not subjected to DDOS. It is simply not necessary for anyone.
But for now, the FAF community is united on the entire planet.
For example, I have never played either ruFAF or GAF.
Why should I suffer, just because of some freaks living in my country?
Yes, I am a patriot of my country, but not of these bad people. But this is too much. Now the game unites people.

I ask you to take care of SC and FAF fans living in Russia.
I ask you to realize the scale of the problem. It is unusually large and is growing every day. There have always been a lot of Russian players in FAF. This is a huge percentage of your audience.
I ask you to create protection against DDOS attacks.
If you hate Russians and are taking revenge, please write so. Then I will simply leave this game. Why do we need this HELL? Why torture people?

В России этим кодом воспользовались две группы энтузиастов и на его основе собрали свои два клиента:

Но позже, когда о причинах DDOS узнали простые игроки, то многие вернулись обратно на FAF.
Никто не хочет быть скотиной, насильно загоняемой в стойло.
Видя эту тенденцию, атаки на русских игроков усилились.
За много лет проблема достигла пика.
Теперь иногда всю неделю невозможно поиграть. Приходится ждать редкого дня.
Сидишь по 8 часов и делаешь по 10-15 попыток игр, которые через 5-10 минут подвергаются DDOS.
Поиграть удаётся всё реже.
Это игра в лобби симулятор, а не стратегия.

Подозреваю, что игроков из других стран не подвергают DDOS. Это просто ни зачем никому не нужно.
Но пока что сообщество FAF единое на всю планету.
Например, я никогда не играл ни в ruFAF, ни в GAF.
Почему я должен страдать, только из-за каких-то уродов, живущих в моей стране ?
Да, я патриот своей страны, но не этих плохих людей. Но это уже перебор. Сейчас игра объединяет людей.

Прошу вас позаботиться о фанатах SC и FAF, живущих в России.
Прошу вас осознать масштаб проблемы. Он необычно велик и всё больше с каждым днём. Русских игроков в FAF всегда было очень много. Это огромный процент вашей аудитории.
Прошу вас создать защиту от DDOS атак.
Если вы ненавидите русских и мстите, прошу так и написать. Я тогда просто уйду из этой игры. Зачем нужен этот АД ? Зачем мучить людей ?

@Giebmasse I'm not a programmer. I suggest an idea. Can't we add secret fake IP addresses to the lobby? And use noise on these fake IP addresses? So that attackers can do DDoS on fake addresses? And immediately remove observers who track traffic on addresses in the game from the game?

I understand all the difficulties.

But both of these groups managed to solve this DDOS problem at the client level.
They were able to solve this DDOS problem quite a long time ago.

Они смогли уже довольно давно решить эту проблему ДДОС.
На уровне своих клиентов.
Получается, что это возможно.
И, наверное, не так сложно, если другие уже сделали.

Вы сейчас ответили, что у вас нет команды по безопасности, и что это даже не планируется.
Тогда для нас всё так и закончится ?
