thanks y'all. I changed the lobby settings from windowed to full screen and it's now working perfectly fine. I actually dont know if this fixed it but the tv is now megaminimap so thats cool
The current pre-release of the client ("pioneer" in the version) is only compatible to itself. So you can only play with other testers. Please be aware!
