Gray screen after game launch

I havent been able to play faf for almost two months now and Im having withdrawls. Every time A game gets launched my whole screen goes gray and all I can do is hit window and close the game. A window that I cant fully click on says FataL Error. I have uninstalled faf multiple times and rolled back my driver update and nothing seems to fix it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I've actually had this hyper specific issue a couple of times. the grey square window is usually a graphic resolution issue.
For me its was caused by the resolution of the game being is out of bounds for the monitor.
Try to run the game in windowed mode, or download the steam "borderless gaming" app.

I tried both of those options and they didnt seem to be the fix.
