The current pre-release of the client ("pioneer" in the version) is only compatible to itself. So you can only play with other testers. Please be aware!
Check your firewall or/and security settings. Try to whitelist anything FAF/Supreme Commander related.
Try to use a VPN to narrow down the issue and to see if it might related to your provider.
