The current pre-release of the client ("pioneer" in the version) is only compatible to itself. So you can only play with other testers. Please be aware!
Seems to be issue with the link to log in to api.faforever through steam

i am trying to bring in a couple of friends to play with me, however they are having issues with registering their steam account and linking it to their FAF account.
every time they click on the orange link, they get sent back to the same link page. being that, instead of bringing them to the sign in through steam page, it simply loops back to the page they started in.
This is their first few attempts to sign in and link account. any possible help is appreciated.

@giantrubberduck i am getting the same problem but when i tried to link faforever with steam account from my android based phone it works you can also try to link from your phone.
