I've seen early desyncs happen on astro and the match still gets rated, and I've seen the opposite too. What's the criteria for when a match is unranked due to a desync?</p>

If you see desync message once in a game nothing is over yet, but if you see 2 messages then it is unranked because too many desyncs happened.</p>

So I guess the unpredictability comes from the player count heavily affecting the result. An Astro game will send 6 desync messages every 5 seconds while a Dualgap game sends 12.</p>
